Can I estimate for free?
Yes. The public static estimator pages are free to use and do not consume estimate credits.
What if my first estimate isn't good enough?
You don't pay the credit. Simple. Your first estimate with Max is free to review — you only spend a credit if the draft is good enough to send to your client. If not, you've lost nothing. We're confident enough in Max to put it in writing.
Is my data safe? Can I trust this with client drawings?
Yes. Your drawings and project data stay encrypted, are never shared with other builders, and are never used to train public AI models. We're UK-based and GDPR-compliant.
Can I edit the estimates before sending?
Of course. Max produces the heavy lifting — the estimate draft, quote, take-off, programme or draft site document. You review scope, tweak prices to your margin, and send. It's your estimate, with your branding.
Do I need to download anything?
No. Everything happens in WhatsApp. If you can send a photo to a mate, you can use 5 Minute Estimate. No app, no login, no CRM.
What kinds of jobs does it handle?
Extensions, refurbishments, loft conversions, new builds, kitchens, bathrooms, basements, commercial fit-outs, and small trade jobs like tiling, plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, flooring and daywork.
What files can Max produce?

Full construction jobs can also get material take-offs and estimating-stage programmes. Max can draft method statements, RAMS, COSHH assessments and construction phase plans, but H&S drafts need competent-person review before use.
